Seas: rough north of East Cape, considerable swell southwards to Akaroa; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: North-east winds strong in the northern portion, with rough seas; moderate but freshening in the southern portion with moderate but rising seas. Weather: Fair, mild and hazy at first in most districts, becoming dull and misty soon north- of Auckland, with rain setting in ; cloud .and wrist also increasing elsewhere, and rain gradually exending southwaids, especially to districts with .ail easterly aspect.
