FATHER Al ell A ItDV. iPress Association.: WELLINGTON, May 18. The death has occurred at the ago pf 28 years of Father Ehuuet AleHardy, a former Catholic missionary in the Solomon Islands. He was a native of J’ihama, iarauaki and attended St. Patricks College and was ordained at Grcenmeadows Seminary in 1928. Immediately afterwards ho volunteered for work iu foreign missions, and alter three years’ service in the Solomon Islands contracted malaria, which led to ids death, AIR. EDMUND CHRISP The death occurred at. Dunedin yesterday.'of Air Edmund Chrisp, father of Mf James Chrisp, of Gisborne, and a resident of this tpsvu as long.ago as ISSI. Tlio late Air Chrisp, who was 84 years of age, had been a resident of St. Clair, Dunedin, since before the 'Great War. Born in Blyth,. England, the late Mr Chnisp came to New Zealand in tho Northumberland at tho ago of 29 years. In ISBI, a year after ho landed in thisf country, he came to Gisborne, accompanied by his family, and entered into business, establishing a business with the late Air O. P. Davies, in musical supplies and instnur incuts. In the year Chrisp and Son was founded, and! the late Air Chrisp was actively engaged in its management up to 1913, when ho retired. From that dato he has boon a resident of. St. Clair. Tho late Air Chrisp, who was a brother of tho laid Captain Thomas Chrisp, is survived by two sons and one daughter, Alessrs James Cliiisp, qlj Gisborne', and Edmund Chrisp, of Dunedin, and Mr? E. Goldsmith, of Grey Lynn, Auckland. Deep sympathy will ho extended to the widow and members of the family.
