GISBORNE SITTING CONCLUDES
MORE BOROUGH ( APPLICATIONS SOME SUBSTANTIAL CUTS
The Gisborne sitting of the Assessment Court continued throughout yesterday, when further applications lor re-valuation of borough properties considered. Inspections of vari- / ous properties were made by the court yesterday, and after consideration in committee, substantial reductions in connection with most of the properties were announced. Mr J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., presided, and nad with him as assessors, Messrs O. E. Bartram and W. Hamilton Irvine. Mr H. P. Hamilton appeared for the Valuation Department and Mr W. Johns carried out the duties of clerk. The following applications were dealt with yesterday:— Theresa Y. Cuthbert, town section ' 71, Gladstone road and Peel street, 34. 2 d.
