OBITUARY
AIR. HENRY lIAAIAIOND. (Bren* Association.'. BLENHEIM, May 15. The death is reported of Mr Henry Hammond, of Fairhall, aged 92 years, one of the original Nelson pioneers. He reached Nelson with his parents' in the ship Lord Auckland ,in February, 1842, spent his boyhood in Nelson and took up land in Marlborough in 1870. He was a very widely respected! resident. He leaves "two. sons,’ and three daughters, Alessrs W. L. and W 11. Hammond, of , Fafirhall; Mrs AV. T. Es3on, of Wellington ; Mrs H. Boyce, of Fairhall; and Airs AY. C. Hammond, of Nelson.

The death has occurred of Mr. John O’Reilly, M.L.C., .aged 45 years. He was appointed to the Upper House in 1931 on the recommendation of the Lang Government.
