The revival of Marlene Dietrich in “Shanghai Express” is proving to lie a popular one judging by , the crowds which attended both sessions yesterday Seven well-known character actors and actresses supplement the work of Marlene Dietrich,and Clive Brook in Josef von Sternberg’s latest. Paramount production. They arc Anna Wong, Warner Oland, Lawrence Grant, Gustav von Seyffortitz, Eimil Ghautard, Eugene Palletto, and Louis© Glosser Hale. Miss Dietrich’s characterisation in “Shanghai Express” is thgt .of Shanghai Lily, an adventuress, notorious throughout the Orient. Brook plays the part of a British officer, one of her legion tef admirers. Miss Wong has tho role of a Chinese courtesan; Oland appears as a Chinese war lord; Grant portrays a European clergyman; Scyffertitz hits the part of a German adventurer.
To-morrow Douglas Fairbanks, junior,, will bo presented in “Love is a Racket.” Ho is supported by the pick of Hollywood’s young actors. Ann Dvorak, Frances Dee and Lee Tracey. “Love is a Racket’’ is described as being the comedy that put the unfair sex °n the spot.
