MR COLEAIAN’S .CANDIDATURE i There was a large attendance at the meeting of the Alayoralty campaign committee of Air D. W. Coleman, ALP., held on Tuesday , night at- the committee rooms, the seating accommodation being taxed to the utmost; The chair was occupied by Air G. It- AS WhitingIt was reported that over 200 najmes had:been enrolled by the committee since last Friday evening. The chairman said that a subscription list had been opened to defray the expenses of the election and •that about? £2O already had been subscribed,' all the donations, being from individual people. , A report: was received that the Waterside Workers’ Union, as its meeting on Alonday morning had passed a motion unanimously supporting Mi- Coleman. - j / « Reports were also received from sub-committees, indicating _ that everything iwas progressing satisfactorily. fin a brief address. Air Coleman thanked the committee for the excellent work it had done so far, and urged it to continue in the same spirit until polling day. He asked ‘members not to encourage any personalities. The danger at, election time, he emphasised, (was for personalities to he indulged, in, and he particularly asked his committee not to adopt such tactics. Several offers of motor'cars for polling day-were received. The next meeting of, the committee Will he held at the committee rooms on Monday next.
