A deep westerly depression extends ,-from Tasmania to Southern New Zealand. A tropical disturbance is located near tHo Fiji Islands, and extends towards the Cook islands.

Forecast

Winds: North to hortb-west, later backing to westerlies, moderate !■ strong generally, reaching gale force ■in; many places. ‘ { Seas : Becoming rough on the west coast in Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere moderate.

Kastern Tasman Sea: Strong north to 'west winds to gales; rough seas.

Weather: Mainly fair to fine, warm to hot east of the ranges; elsewhere changeable, with showers at times in most places. Some heavy falls likely in western districts south of KaWhia.
