Sir K. Lindsay, British Ambassador in the United States has arrived in Washington from England, eu route to a conference with Mr. Roosevelt. NEW YORK, Feb. 20

Mr. Roosevelt announced after a talk with the British Ambassador, Sir R. Lindsay, ’ on Monday that “The broader aspects of world economic ami other situations,” had been discussed. He said that the conversation would he resumed at an early date, as'soon as his choice of' Secretary of State is announced. He will then have him and Sir R. Lindsay work on problems involved. The statement said: —

“The British Ambassador has given Mr. Roosevelt unofficially his views of the British Government touching the broader aspects of the world economic problem and other situations. Conversations between them were confined to a general aspect of problems No specific proposals relating to a world economic conference or inter-Governmcnt debts were discussed The resumption of the conversations will take place at ail early date. Mr. Roosevelt will ask the new Secretary of State, when the choice is announced: to confer unofficially on the same subjects.”
