STRATTON WINS N.Z. OPEN TITLE (Press Associa I 100 ■> WELLINGTON. Jan. 23. A large gallery followed the linai open championship of the Dominion croquet. tournament in Riddiford Park to-day. Llaving beaten Captain Hartnell in the semi-final. It. P. Stratton played. Airs Watkins, whom he defeated iu two games by, 26.10 and 26-1. Siraiton played faultless croquet throughout, the tournament. The following trophies were presented by the retiring president. ALs H. Rhodes-Williams Open "Championship : Mr Stratton; numer-up, Airs Watkins. Women's championship; Mrs W. E. Caldow: yunner.up. Mr s Watkins. Championship doubles: Airs Palmer and Mr Stratton ; runners-up, Airs Henderson and Captain Hartnell. Level singles; Al. E. Mnnagh: rnn-nor-up, Airs Lees.
Handicap singles. Airs Kibhlewhito; run tier-up, Airs Bassett. Handicap’singles, P> grade: Miss J. Beal; runner-up. Rev. Tyo. Handicap doubles; Mrs Bartlett and Air B. Alanagh ; runners.up, Mrs Tingley and Airs Clark. English medals played for at Hastings last- autumn ; Gold modal, Airs Watkins; silver medal, Mrs Caldow.
