Slie was Mrs Re berb Barbour, widow of Major Robert Barbour, an ex-Higli Sherrill of Cheshire, who wa,s killed iu a riding accident in 1928., The bridegroom was Mr. W. Hamilton Carter. The marriage took place at Biekerton, Cheshire. Major Barbour’s estate was valued at £1,125,000, and he bequeathed to his wife an annuity of £2,000 “while she continues a widow. .If she remarries, £IOOO a year for life.” ' Mr Carter has been estate agent of Esworth Castle, the lfome of Mrs Barbour, iwho is one of the known hunting women in Cheshire.
