Sergeant J. Mclntyre, of. Tokomaru Bay, lias received notice' of ■ transfer fo take charge ’of ilio Westport police "station, and will bo replaced by Sergeant J/. J. Parks, of the Wellington wharf station, the change to take place immediately. Sergeant McIntyro was transferred to Tokomaru Bay from Gisborno in April, 1930.
A notable business career, almost unique in. length, that of Mr. E. W. Knox, chairman of tho Colonial Sugar licfinipg Company,, who lias just retired from ilie position of managing director after 68' years’ association ■\yith the company, w-as recognised at a large incoting of N.Z. shareholders convened by two local directors, Mr. H. Horton and MiV J. Newell. Tributes wero paid to Mr. Knox and a congratulatory resolution passed. ,
