TWO CHEATS DISQUALIFIED.

Through the vigilance of the supervisors, two candidates were caught cheating at the recent University examinations, one in the degree and one in the matriculation examinations.
A report on these cases was presented to the annual meeting of the New Zealand University Senate yesterday by the executive committee, which, advised that in each case it had in the meantime disqualified the two candidates in examinations in which they were taking part. The Senate decided that e«hc of the two candidates should he debarred from sitting in 1933, and that their 1932 papers should not count. PROPOSED REVISION OF FEES. FEES. The University Senate to-dav decided to refer to the executive - committee the matter of a revision of th" degree examination fees and to report to the meeting of the Senate next year. Mr. H. F. von Haast’s motion, that the Senate is of opinion that the old system of the-four district courts convocation, each electing one member of the Senate, was preferable to the present system of one .general court, convocation electing ..five members, was, by leave, withdrawn after some discussion.
