Mr Gosgfave, 'speaking at Cavan, said that the Ho Valbfaitos had promised a reduction of: £2,000,000 ill'taxation, but instead Had increased taxation by £4,006,0ti0, iwbile in July they had voted £2,000,000 to prosecute an economic' war, but voted no taxation 'to- meet the charge. Moreover, they Had 1 spent £1,000,000 in providing work for tH e unemployed. Whatever Government wa’s returned to power would find that the Free State Had begun 1933 ‘ wi th £3,000,000 debt and Fitl'i the country losing £1,000,000 in exports.
