The Wilding Shield and Nmmeley Casket competitions for inter-p.ro. vincial tennis were played at Wellington to-day in easily the hottest day this season, and there was a complote absence of wind. In tho Shield contest, for men, Wellington are (lending Canterbury by five rubbers to one, and in the Casket competition for ladies, Canterbury and Wellington are equal w ith three rubbers all.
