SUMMARY AND FORECAST. .Press Association.’ --General Situation. A cyclone has persisted In the northeast of Auckland Peninsula, but lias gradually become shallower. A slight westerly depression is now moving on to the South Island, while pressure has’ risen in Eastern Australia. —Forecast.— "Winds:—Light to moderate nU-.l variable, southeasterly to southerly prevailing north of TC’awhia and East Cape, ' and northerly to westerly thence southwards. Seas; —Still rather rough north of Cape .Campbell, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sen: —Moderate and variable winds, hut southerlies ruling; seas smooth to moderate. Weather:—Some scattered rain still in the northern and eastern portions of the North Island; elsewhere for the most part fair and warm,’.to hot, but some, isolated showers likely in the South Island, and fog on parts of the East Const.
