VALUABLE WATCH
LOST BY MATSON LINE VISITOR - : TO AUCKLAND. (Press Association.■) AUCKLAND, Jan. 3. A platinum wristlet watch, studded with diamonds and valued at 1,500 dollars) was lost in Queen Street this afternoon by Mrs. Dorothy Abel, a through cabin passenger from America to -Sydney on the Matson linoi, Mariposa, ’which arrived from Los Angeles this morning. Mrs:- Abel came ashore about two o’clock and, when leaving the entrance gates at Queen’s wharf, she noted the time by her watch. A few minuntes later, when at the corner of Customs Street, the watch wa* missing from - her wrist. After *-o----tracing' her 'stops to the Mariposa, Mrs. Ahey reported her loss to the police. . The watch had not, boon recovered i when the vessel sailed for Sydney this evening.
