Experiments which have boon conducted simultaneously by loading medical men in the municipal hospitals of Berlin and Dussoldorf have led to the conclusion that an excess of iodine in the blood is the primary cause of a jealous disposition in women. For the purpose of the experiments, of which a. full report is published in German medical newspapers, a number of German women allowed themselves to be hypnotised. Before the blood was drawn to ho microscopically examined, a state of jealousy was provoked in the person experimented on. In some eases the ■"reaction’’ was so startling that the doctor instantly put an end lo the hypnotic condition. It was proved that the blood of a jealous woman often showed 100 per cent, more iodine that that of. a woman not so disposed.
