A school in which the pupils do as they please is to be •found i n the heart, of Suffolk, England. They aro allowed to swear aud to smoke, to read any book, or to sec any film, to call masters by their Christian names and to smash windows (says tho ‘' Xe‘w s* Cl l ro ni c 1 e''). Mr. A. S. Neill has for some years been making an educational experiment at Summer Hill School. Lei.— ton. He talked about the school afc the Independent Labor party summer school at. Thackeray, and Scott, neglected cn the book* shelves* but a volume of Edgar Wallace is worn out in a week by constant use." Ah'. Neill said: “Themost unimportant- part of my school, is learning. If a, boy does not wish to learn we lot him alone.”•
