(Special To The Times). Ol’OTlia, Oct. 12. At a meeting of the Opotiki Borough Council the Mayor (Mr. J.* T. Thompson), brought up the questiou of what might bo done for single unemployed men. not tit to go to camp at To Puke. The Town Clerk (Mi\ C. (Fleming) stated that Lhe allocation for Opo ( tiki had been out by £SO weekly, wliieh was far more than had been paid to single men before they were ordered to To Puke, lie also said that no time had ever been given to arrange to get the men away. With another reduction in the allocation, it was now impossible to give any single men work and the married men would also bo cut down by one day.
