Wjien the sessional select committees were being appointed in the House of Representatives t'o-day, Air Samuel (C.) said lie would like to ask the 'Government what procedure was adopted in setting up a select committee. Air Jordan (LA said that Mr Samuel in the past had been a very useful member of the .committee. Mr Forbes said that in setting up committees, attempts liad been made to dovetail the work, so that no member would be embarrassed by having to serve on I'oo many committees. Mr McDougall requested that ho would be allowed to withdraw from tii<* committee in favor of Air Samuel, remarking that he considered Air Samuel knew more, about defence matters than he did. On the motion of the .Prime Alinister, the House agreed to this course.
