This week-end brought the close of i tho Tokoniaru Bay Golf season and, was favoured, with a warm, lino day.; A mixed I'uursomos—President v.t Captain—gave' a win to the president’s;: team. : Those taking part" in thm match were:—

Miss L. Coop and L. Cooper lost to Mrs. Lumsileu and P. To Wai, 2 and 1.

■ Miss D. Popper and P. Seville beat' Mrs. J. B. Stafford and D. E. Ramsay, 5 and 4.

Miss 11. Savage and D. .Lumsden boat Miss K. Brabant and N. Oates, 1 2 and' 1.

Miss J. Bruce and L. Lunken lost to Miss ]>. Conole and A. Forrester, 4 and 2. Miss-M. Gibson and A. P. Orr lost' to Mrs. Niven and J. McDonald, 2 up. N

Miss Al. Mackav and Elf Oates beat M, E. Oates and J. Todd, 3 and 2. After afternoon tea, the president of the Men’s Club,-Mr. D. E. Ramsay,declared the season closed and hoped to sec the club members backnext season. TJic president of Uie Ladies’ Club, Mrs. E. It. Stafford are the secretaries of the respective clubs, and Air. Ramsay said it seemed that an amalgamation was necessary. The gift bore the very best wishes of each member of the clubs. Air. Burdeit, Tokoniaru Bay, during last week. The proceeds of the function were in aid of the Tokomaru Bay Public School picnic. Thir* 'teen tables were requisitioned’and an enjoyable evening was spent. The ladies’ pri ze was won by Airs. Af. L. Holali and Air. S. Randajl (Tauranga), annexed tbe gentlemen s prize. After supper,, cakes, flowers, puddings and plants Avere disposed of and helped the funds considerably. Air. J. Corbett, on behalf of the school committee, thanked Airs. Dr. Liston, Catholic Bishop of Auckland, accompanied by Fathers Lyons of Ormond, administered the Sacrament of Confirmation at Tokoniaru Bay on Thursday evening, and Avere, later, the guests of Mesdames Brodio and Harris at the To Puka Hotel, Tokoniaru Bay.

The Rev. George Budd, of Auckland, conducted u> service at the Tokoniaru Buy Presbyterian-Church during the week-end.
