A very successful feature ol the B.LCL campaign was the concert |he Opera House on Wednesday night, when a large troupe ot local Natives presented "-A Night in .Maoriland.”

Two songs sung by Miss Puna J'aii.guiua were the compositions of her father. Mr Ranguiua. The concert was under -the direction of Mr. W. K. TSniiivanL who deserved the utmost credit bathe success of the entertainment. Mrs. X. Parsons and Mr. Swan were tile official nccnmpiinisis. and during the evening Mrs. Parsons rendered two pianoforte solos, which wore well received. In spite ol the lengthy programme, the concert was without a hitch from beginning to end, Mr. I’ullivant intimated during the entertainment that if war; hoped that Gisborne .would soon have a goor[ local Maori party, and ii was also hoped that the public would support Hie troupe in tbe future.
