R ESENTMENT IN BRITAIN
(IJ.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright.) (Received. March ,18, 1.10 a.m.) LONDON, -March 17.
The Times, in an editorial, pays: “The timber deal produces a disagreeable impression of the exploitation of convicts: find political prisoners, whereundef Russian timber is cut and transportead and it causes a widespread ‘ 'impression that it should be completely prohibited. There is natural resentment' that such a huge contract should have been given, as it will damage the British' Columbia' and Scandinavian industries adversely and affect the British balance of ( trade with Russia, which is .already lopsided.
