A Washington cable on January •’ stated: ‘‘Representative Vinson, the new Democratic chairman, clothe House of Representatives Nayj] Committee, is to introduce a Bill calling for a ten-year shipbuilding programme, which is virtually like proposed programme to which Mr. Hoover expressed opposition. Mr. Vinson's Bill requests the building of 120 ships, including four airplane carriers, nine cruisers, So destroyers and 22 submarines, at a total cost of about 016,000,000 dollars.”
