A man. about 56 years of ago, whose name is believed to be Olivci, was found dead alongside the. railway at Burnham to-night. His injuries were consistent with a fall from a moving train.

TRYING TO CATCH A HORSE

Thomas Meiklo, an Auckland schoolboy, aged 15, who was visiting his uncle at Reparoa. met- .with a fatal accident on Saturday morning about 11 o’clock. Hie Iwiy was a son of Mr. and Mrs George Meiklo, of 3, Ewingtou Avenue. Dominion Road. He went to a paddock to eacth a horse to which, a rope wiib attached. The horse broke away, and tho rope became entangled in the hoy's arm. so that he was dragged. He was picked up in an im* conscious 'condition, and rushed to the King -George Hospital, Rotorua, lnit was.dead on arrival. The hoy had heen residing with his mother in Auckland,-hut was (.pending portion of his holidays with his father on tho farm of his undo. Air, W. W. Meiklo. He had boon attend* ing tho Seddon -Memorial College, Auckland, and had passed both the University entrance and Public Service examinations.
