] PRIME MINISTER OPENS CAMPAIGN

SPIRITED ATTACK ON FI ANN A FAIL. GOVERNMENT DEFEAT MEANS DISORDER AND CRIME. (U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright.) (Received Jan. 14, 7.50 p.m.) DUBLIN, Jan. 14. Opening his election campaign at Ennis, Mr. Cosgrave, Prime Minister of the Irish Free State, warned the people that if the Fianna Fail fulfilled its intention of abolishing the •oath and violating the treaty with Britain there could be no appeal to thp treaty as a shield against the consequences. He acknowledged Ireland’s dependence on Britain as her most important customer and source of supplies. He added that if Ireland is to benefit by Britain's fostering inter-Commonwealth of commerce, negotiations were essential. The Fianna Fail, if returned, would repeal the Constitution Amendment Act, again loosing a flood of disorder and crime.
