GISBORNE CLUB. SECOND TRIAL FOURS. The remaining two races of the second round .of the second tria! fours were rowed off last night, and first-class flares were witnessed in eneh case. !Tn the first race, Hanna (str.) Aliev, Carey and Weir defeated Hunter (str), Le Compte, Dudley and C’rarer. At the start, Hanna obtained a slight advantage. Huntermade desperate attempts to overtake fn'm, but was unable to do so, and the crews raced down the river almost Just before the finish, however, Hanna increased his lead slightly and passed the post half a length to the good. An even more exciting race was the one between Zachariali (str.), Gardiner, Martin and Scaly, and Weatherly (str.), Coates, Callaghan and Loughnmn. Zachariali obtained the lend at the start, and was hard pressed all the way. At .Derby street no was three-quarters of a length t'head, hut a good sprint by Weatherly gradually decreased his'lead, and just before the finish tliejv was only inches between the. boats. A final burst, hv Weatherly in the rouclml-r-ng .stages ApTaeod him level with Zachariali right on Hie line, and the race was declared a dead heat.
