POVERTY BAY’S ANNUAL MEETING.
There was a fair attendance at the annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Kennel Club, whereat -Mr. B. Edwards presided. Officers were elected as follows; Patrou, Mr. T. H. Bell; president, .Mr. U. Jones; vice-presidents, Ales‘srs. A'. Barker, G. C. Chiton and \\ . U. Waugh; secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. Goodwin; committee, Mrs. M. A- Black, Miss N. Green,- Messrs. W. Clifford, E. Erickson, H. Bowman, D. Cudd, R. Williamson, B. Edwards, G. C. Clifton. R. Burt, 11. Turnbull and T. Sinale. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to tho outgoing officers for their good work during the year. Gratifteatioif was expressed by members at the progressive slop taken by the A. anti j*. Association in the erection of dog shelters, with the dogs benched separately and well protected from the weather.- —The .secretary was instructed to write to the A, and P. Association thanking it for the interest- if. had taken in tho chibs affairs as demonstrated by the erection of the dog shelter. Comment was also made on the success, of the dog section at the Show,, and-it-was pointed out that, 'although entries were slightly below . those of last , year, a greater variety of exhibits and the increased interest displayed compensated to some extent for the drop in the entries. More than usual interest was dis r played in the section this year in view jjof the fact' Unit ihe presidentof the New Zealand Kennel Club, Air. N. AA T ade, was judging. Mr. . Wado: had remarked very favorably on the dog shelter, and also'on the manner in which the ’stewards had carried out thejr duties.
