FATAL SHUNTING MISHAP

IK>, •was killed instantaneously to-night. Ho suffered terrible injuries to the head and body, Grindley.. who was o>nccr .in clmrge of the situation for tho evening, was en.aged in attaching additional trucks to the goods train which leaves Frank ton Junction. at d p.ui. for Mercer and Auckland. AViliou the accident occurred, he was struck by the' buffers of a truck at tho near end of two portions of the train. The force of the impact was sufficient to cause deUailnxeivt of the two colliding trucks. Grindloy, whoso ,'parents (reside 'in Dunedin, was married, but had no family. Ho had boon stationed at Tc Kauwlmtia for about four years. The derailment of tho trucks resulted in some delay, but tho train later continued its journey to Auckland. ...
