At IYA this evening, the Laloma Quartet, a eoinbinatien of Islanders who recently toured Australia under engagement to the Union Theatres, will sing Polynesian melodies. Also on the programme vdl l>o Aliss Ad ole Taylor, Aliss Phyllis Grihben, the Two Alaes. and Aliss Dorothea Ryan (novelty pianiste). The Band of the "Wellington Division of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve will provide a programme for 2YA. Three mare lies, “Knellar Hall,” “Great Lillie Army” and “Powerful.” will h<> played; also the wait/, “Moonlight." and selections from “H AI.S. Pinafore"’ and ‘‘The Pirates of Penzance.” ‘Alas Those Chimes’’ will bo presented as a cornet solo. Soulirotte songs bv Airs. M. Liglitbodv, baritone solos by Air. David Anderson, guitar duets by Messrs. Bert hold and Bent, and Air Jack Standen in popular songs at the piano will add to a programme of much variety.
The evening's programme from I!YA will be entirely Welsh. Proceedings will commence with a recorded lecture by Sir M ilford Davies, entitled “Tunes Bin'll; in AY ales." In the presenting of the programme, accompaniments will be plaved by Air. H. G. Glayshcr on his Welsh harp. Flute solos will bo contributed by Mr A. E Hutton, and . selections will be played by the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio”. The vocalists for flie evening will be Aliss Frances Hnmortoii. Aliss Alillieent .Jennings, Mr. Bussell Sumner and Air. T. D. Williams. Silent day at- 4YA.
