THE MALE JELLY FISH AND THE GISBORNE ’QUAKE.
(To the Editor). Sir.—-I, with a- great many others, read with, disgust the letter in Saturday’s Times, signed “Sickened.” Perhaps the quake has upset the poor man’s liver.' . The majority of those in Gisborne on tlmt awful Friday (13tlj) will endorse mosO of wliat the teacher says in her letter—apart from the smash*ing of the crockery—though there was more of that broken than many are aware of. Whoever the creature may be who feels so *sick, I reckon if he is a sample of the “lordly creatures” who were at Napier during the terrible disaster, it-is no wonder so many women and children lost their lives. But, thank God, there were- many good men and true there who worked like Trojans. There are always bound to bo blowflies after a catastrophe-- like this, ready to pounce on -anything or anybody.- I’ would recommend ft month under a good school teacher, who might eui'e his infantile ‘mind' and) when he • makes a literary effort againyiet ps;hope he will haye learned how to write truthfully vand civilly. I am, Yours etc., - - - ' * ANOTHER JELLY FISH.
