DECEMBER RETURNS. December returns of ’ the Poverty Bay Group Herd-Testing Association show an! average of 32.9511)5. ; of butterfat por cow, a decrease. •of about 1J- lbs. on the same month of last year, when, however, the season was very much more, favorable. Only one herd last month reached, the 501 b. mark, whereas in November several herds passed this figure, this serving as an indication that the dry spell is having a serious effect, on production. The only herd to' roach 501 b. of butterfat for the month was that of Mr. P. Robertson, of Nelson road, his herd being one of eight cows. . The highest herds in tlie two groups were.—No. 1 group: Up to 20 cows, Mr. K. G-. Poiilgrain, Manutuke; over 20 cows, Mr. H. B. Bull, Patutabi. No. 2' group; up to 20 cows, Mr. P. Robertson, Nelson road; over 20 cows, Mr. G. R. Moore, Hansen road. A summary of last month’s returns as provided by the secretary, Mr. M.
