MANUFACTURERS TO PARTICIPATE.

WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. The Manufacturers’ Association is included in ’ organisations taking part in the economic conference called by the* Associated Chambers of Commerce fpr Wednesday next-.
The purpose of the conference is to discuss questions of national importance with a view to arriving at an agreement which a joint deputation representative of all the bodies concerned could place before the Prime Minister when .he returns.

HAMILTON, Dec. 5. The need for "an immediate session of Parliagient tp discuss ways and means for relieving the desperate position of the country and the farmer in particular, was voiced at a largely-attended meeting of the Waikato Farmer's Uniop to-day, and the following resolution was carried. That this executive urge's the Gov-ernor-General to assemble Parliament immediately to consider remedies for the - present desperate economic condition of the country and the farming community in particular.
