Perjury was admitted by Pakei’ori Waiiti. known as Ted White, when he was charged on two counts before Justices at the Police Court. Waifara, yesterday. Accused was committed for sentence io the Supreme Court. Bail was allowed. White, a Pukearuhe native, committed the offences during his appearance on judgment summons proceedings before Air. B. \V. Tate, S.AL., at Waitara. The charges were: That, lining a witness on _Juue 0, he gave evidence on oa th in the open court that lie had not driven his car for six months, and that he was not at the Stratford races in January 1930. such assertions being known by him to be false, and intended to mislead the court; that on July 4 he committed perjury by falsely swearing. “1 did not drive my car through Urenui on •May 25 last. I am sure it is moie than three months since-I drove the ear. I was not. at the Stratford rapes in January IP3O. I did not draw a dividend on Monsogne. I was last there when Grand Lupin won.” These statements were made during a further hearing on the judgment summons.
