Flight Lieut. Buckley arrived from Auckland in the Fairey 11 IF monoplane. The machine, which has been designed lor aerial survey’ work, will be used by Lieut. Buckiey in surveying the Alaniototo country. From the Uobsonville air -base To Christ - .church only one stop was made, nr •Blenheim. where Lieut. Buckley landed to inspect the auxiliary petrol tanks, which be. suspected of not fuetioning properly. He found little amiss, resumed the flight and arrived at AYigram aerodrome at- 4.35 p.m. AA’lien the weather clears. Lieut. Uuokley will leave for the Alaniototo Plains, Central Otago, to make an aerial photographic survey. Tie will make his base Ranfurly’ and spend four day’s on the work. Special accommodation has been made in the aeroplane for a. photographer and apparatus and the wide flying range of the machine will facilitate the survey over a wide territory.
