Copyright (Received May 1, 11 p.m.) LONDON, May 1 Nearly one hundred families dashed from their homes, clad in their night.clothes, when a fire occurred atWalthamstow factory. Mothers, terrified, wrapped their children in blankets and rushed them to safety in the streets. The flames were accompanied by a serie.s of alarming explosions which could bo heard for miles around. The explosions were caused by tho bursting of a petrol tank. Pieces of timber flew high in the air and several narrowly escaped injury. Thousands of gallons of water wore poured on the building unavailingly, for it was hurnt- to the ground in less than an hour.
