MAJESTIC THEATRE.
LOX CHANEY TN “WHERE EAST ]Q EAST.” AND “ THE WOLE HUNTERS.” An undeniable success was achieved at the Majestic on Saturday when the last of the silent programmes was commenced at that populai picture rendezvous. Both proved 100 per cent, productions and met with warm approval from all present. “Where East is East,” grim mystery drama of the Siamese jungles, is Lon Chaney’s new Metro-Goldwyn-VLiver production with the character star in the role of a trapper of .jungle beasts. The traditions of tiro .Royal NorthWest Mounted Police are glorified m most realistic scenes as Sergeant Drew sets out to arrest the girl lie loves, despite the pain in his heart. This ’is just one of the thrills in “The Wolf Hunters.” The supports include ‘ : The Booster,” Charlie Chase comedy and Metro-Goldwyn Gazette.. This programme will Ire shown again to-night. GEORGE BANCROFT I.N ‘ THE MIGHTY.” ALL TALKIE WEDNESDAY. The management of the Majestic Theatre has been most fortunate in securing the Paramount All-talkie special,’ “The Mighty,” as the first of the Talkie programmes that will, as • from Wednesday night next he presented at that theatre. George Bancroft, as the chief actor in this excellent picture, surpasses his other thrilling performances in “Tlie Wolf of Wall Street,” etc. Others in the east are Esther Ralston, \\ arner Gland, t). P. TJeggie and Raymond Hatton. The story of “The Mighty” is that of a pre-war gunman, who smiled at the law, was forced into the war, and emerged a national hero without a past. He, is made police chief of a crime ridden city, but his old gang find him and they plan a grand raid, with his aid. Growing tired of waiting they hold up three hanks while Bancroft and the police force are at a pic-nie. Off goes deepchested George at ■ the head of fifty mofcoreyelp officers, riding at breakneck speed, firing a s fast as their will shoot! In support will be fine singing and all-talkie supports.
