NEW YORK, March 20 When ho dies in Sing Sing’s electric chair. “Texas” Jim Baker, the 26-year-old sailor who boasts that he ITTllt'd 11 persons, wants a fvorld radio audience to listen-in to liis plunge into eternity. “Texas” Jiin wants the microphone to eat-cli his nonchalant farewell, atid the agonised groan, too, that will escape his thin, cruel lips, as 10.000 volts crackle through his writhing body. Baker made this request in a letter he wrote to Mr. Lewis Lawes, warden, of Sing Sing. He also asked the warden, to prepare for his occupancy cell No. 13 in the death house, or “slaughter house,” as Baker termed it. Baker asked Lawes if he might invite a few friends to see him burned, including the father of Eleanor Ray, his Detroit sweetheart.
