MARRIED MAN DROAVNED
(Press Association-* CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 2. A drowning tragedy occurred at AVaimairi Beach, a tew miles north of New Brighton, yesterday aiteinoon, a married man, A. - . Pease, together with Max Roberts and Hector Phdpott, went on a trawling expedition on AAuimJ.Hl Beach. When about a quarter of a mile north of the Surf Club s pavilion AViliiainson and Hall, who time on 'the shallow end of the line, sud. chmlv found themselves in a channel. ' and being carried away by a strong undertow. - The men, who were, heavily clothed, made desperate efforts to reach the shore, Phdpott <roing to their assistance. . Every effort was made to bring AViliiainson to the shore, but owing to his violent struggles efforts were unavailing. . .
