The United States Chamber of Commerce, analysing America’s foreign tirade for the first nine months of 1929, states: “Exports to Australia, our seventh best customer, totalled 115,139,000 dollars, 11.33 per cent, larger than for the similar period in 1925. This is in part ascribable to the heavy purchases of motor lorries snd petroleum products. New Zealand’s imports 'of United States products increased by 2,846,000 dollars, or 10.6 per cent.”
