MAJESTIC THEATRE
LOST IN THE ARCTIC"’ AND “THE GREAT WELL.”
“Lost in the Arctic” and “The treat Well” are the double feature ittraetions positively showing lolight at the Alajestie Theatre. Thrills gathered over thousands of mles of ice floes, scenes showing the
hardships General No hi I© and his resellers must have encountered after the wrecking of the Italia, and battles with the hug© animals of the Polar regions are crowded into the Fox picture, “Lost In the Arctic.” The picture was made by If. A. Snow who went into the Arctic to learn the fate of four members of Yilhjalrnur Stelansson's expedition, who had disappeared ten years before. He not only found the remains of the men and their camp on Herald island, but he also .'•■eeured a pictof ial record never before equalled. Ktefausson learned what had happened to his men for the first time when he recently visited the Fox New York offices. Un e of the members of the crew of the Herman, a motor schooner on which the trip was made, describes Air. Snow’s accomp'ixhmcnts in the following words: Sidnev Snow has permanently recorded the earthly movements of all animals that walk, crawl or swim m the North. in fact, many' was toe time we found it necessary to extract our intrepid cameramen from the very jaws of death, though not until his camera lens was hopelessly fogged by the fetid breath of his infuriated "subjects. He plumbed the depths of the iev water for whales, he defied the mighty and relentless Arctic ice pack for polar hears. •The Great Well" featuring Seona Owen and Eva Aloovo is a story that carries you from England to Africa and show 3 how men will struggle for oil to-day as the pioneers did ]org ago for gold. This latter picture, with a full supporting programme will be shown at the matinee to-day.
