ORDINARY MONTHLY MEETING.

Following the annual meeting yesterday, the Poverty Bay Electricpower Board held its usual monthly meeting, the chairman (Mr. F l . RBall) presiding over the lollowmg; Messrs. T. Curran, M. J. While, H. H. De Costa, A. C. Steele, S. AS Beaufov, J. Tomblcson, M. T( Trafford, B. J. iloklsworih and C. 11. Bridge. It was reported that arrangements had been made with- the Shopping Week Committee, to supply extra lighting for the week at a charge of £25. —This arrangement, was endorsed by members.

The Gisborne Borough Council wrote in reference to the removal of certain street lamps and also pointed out that other lights were not always kept alight.—The letter was referred to the engineer. Accounts ior May, totalling £4863 14s. 7d, were passed for payment. DEPA RTMENTAL REPORTS. Reports of the Board's officers were as follow: CONSTRUCTION. “No. 1 gang completed Murphy's service- at Manutuke on April .1.6, Two days dismantling old D.c. cables in Victoria Township and completed Te Karaka. sub-station on ApriU2o. Went into camp at Here on April 2‘2. All L.T. ma-iis and services and H.T. on lllis line are now completed liom Richardson's to Eaulknur’s lionic-st-end. Erected two poles and ran service at WJurlatutu. Ran 1.2 olher new services m other .country areas. Where polos had to be erect,d three, and four men were employed.'' INSPECTION. “Testing and inspection has been earned out on new- installations, extension or alteration, and motors have been ■«. rooted where required in the following districts: Ngatapa. Patufelii. Wuingake, • Whafatutu, AVae-renga-a-luka, Rare, Glencoe, To Ivaruka. (own and suburbs. Changing over from IX to ,\0 has been carried out at \‘icloria Township, Grey SI., Kahn tin St., Cobden St.. _ Bright SI-, Peel St., and Gladstone.
