.MOTOR CYCLIST CRASHES INTO HORSE. INJURIES RESULT FATALLY. (Press Association,) AUCKLAND, April 2-3. Fatal injuries were sustained by a motor cyclist, Frank E. Waller, aged g2, when his machine struck a straying horse on Great Soutli Road near Win’, about two o'clock this morning. The deceased, who was single, resided at Mauurewa. and was employed by a grocery firm. The horse had three leg- broken, and had to lie destroyed. It is thought the animal escaped from its paddock, as the result of mushroom-gatherers leaving the gate open.
Tli IR TEF.X-Y EAR-OL D BO Y DROWNED. (Press Association.! AUCKLAND. April 23. A resident of Takapuna, Geoffrey Shaw, aged 13, was drowned when a canvas canoe in which lie and another hoy were crossing Lake Pupuko, capsized and sank yesterday afternoon. The other boy was rescued, but Shaw's body has not yet been recovered.
FARMER FATALLY INJURED BY CAR. (Press Association.) HAMILTON. April 25. William Andrew Wilson. 58. farmer. Touku. was knocked down in Hamilton on Tuesday by a car driven by i.. C. Buckingham. Roy Field, rider of a motor cycle, collided with a car and received a 0 broken log. Thomas' Fisher, a passenger m a car which overturned at Bulls through a tyre bursting. received chest injuries, but his condition is not serious.
CHILI) DROWNED IN CISTERN. ROTORUA. April 24. (Press Association.) John Durham. 3, a soil of Mr Robert Charles Curham, farmer, oT Rotorua, was found drowned in a cistern in the backyard of his parents’ home. The child had been playing in the yard 20 minutes previously to being missed. A search was made and the body found. A doctor was telephoned, but- resuscitation efforts were, unavailing.

The bus foiled over, and the- passengers were only extricated by smashing in tlie roof and rear wall. The driver was unhurt, but 21 passengers were injured. The. tram was badlv scratched.
