SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR
The sum of approximately £IOO was raised as a result of the- bazaar conducted.' by the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides of the district on Saturday afternoon and the concert held by the Savage Club and Rotary Club on Fr'day night. The proceeds, which considerably exceeded expectations, will lie divided equally between the Roy Scouts and Girl Guides for the purchase of camping equipment, and will provide both organisations with about four tents each. The function on Saturday was one of the best organised and conducted that lias been bold locally tin's year. and the gifts of produce and various goods for sale was a marked indication of tile public’,s appreciation of the work of these organisations.
The stalls were attractively decorated with rainbow colored streamers and greenery, and the displays of cakes, sweets, produce, preserver and ihe collection of arts and crafts attracted considerable business, all the stocks being reared. The stalls wore conducted by members ol the troops of the Guides and Scouts, under the direction of the commissioners. Airs F. B. Barker and Dr NY. A. Bowie. The youthful assistants bandied a steadv stream oi customers, The side shows considerably enlivened the proceedings, these being ably conducted by Messrs M. R. Fry and K. Harvey. Mrs 11. <’.
