It is reported from Bluff that it must be accepted as a fact that a tragedy has overtaken the crew of the missing fishing vessel Twilight. It is a month since the vessel was last seen, and it is learned that she was on a three days’ cruise only. Exhaustive searches have been carried out by vessels eastward and westward of Foveaux Straits, one vessel having gone as far as Dusky Sound, whilst all the outlying is"ands.. round about Stewart Island have been visited in the hope that the men may have reached land. The crew comprised William Hanning (master). J. Stewart and C- Traill. Barton, R.M., into the death of a child named Joyce Mary Cowell, who was killed as the result of being knocked down by a motor car in Jackson Street. Petone. on Wednesday afternoon last. In bringing in a verdict of accidental death the Coroner said he had come to the same conclusion as witness. namely, that no blame was attachable to flu* driver of the car. The evidence negatived any element °i undue sliced, for the ear had just started and the driver had kept a proper look-out and pulled up sharply- It appeared that his attention uas attracted by another child in the narrow street, while at the same tune a vehicle was passing. In the circumstances, the Coroner thought there could be no blame attachable to anyone.
