BU JLDING LABORER KILLED

O’Sullivan, a laborer, who was working on a new building in the city yesterday morning*, was struck a glancing blow on the small of the back by a bucket of hot bitumen which fell seventy feet. _ He was engaged in moving debris beneath a hoist when the handle came off the bucket of bitumen as it was being hoisted to the top storey. He died in hospital last night. OAR CR ASHES INTO TELEGRAPH POLE. (Press Association.) . , AUCKLAND, Feb. 3. j A five-seater taxi, containing tbe driver, Thomas Tipton, and one passenger, Mrs. Lena McLean, crashed into a telegraph pole at Mouht E'den last evening. Mrs, McLean sustained head injuries and tbe driver hnnor injuries; The car was wrecked. Mns. McLean’s condition ..to-day was reported by, the, hospital authorities, to be satisfactory. - ' * •
