Official returns show that British Columbia, under the Government sale of liquor, spends £6 annually for every man, woman and child of the population of 600,000. Liquor sales have advanced about £200.000 annually to the present total of £3,600,000. The Government is making a profit of 20 per cent,, half of which is divided between hospitals and mothers’ pensions. The system works better than anything previously tried in Western Canada.
