WELLINGTON, Dec. 28. The Dominion Meteorologist’s forecast is as follows: The anti-cyclone has passed gradually eastwards. The northern cyclone has intensified somewhat to-day, and pressure is now falling in the '■astern Tasman with the advance of a southern depression. Winds variable but moderate to strong northeasterly to easterly I invading, reaching gale force if places, and tending southerly temporarily from Cook Strait northwards. Seas generally rather rough in New Zealand wafer, variable winds in toe eastern Tasman Sea, with easterly to southerly' prevailing in the net them area, and northerly m the south ern area, with generally iat her rough confused seas. Weather unset tied and cloudy with mcuh mist or fog and rain in most districts. ' Some hpavy falls likely in the' North Island, more especially in me Northern and East Coast districts: thunder at places.
