SYDNEY, Nov. 26. The British Government has agreed that the huge irrigation scheme bn the Lachlan River, New South Wales, should come within its £34,060,000 loan to ‘Australia for development works. It is estimated, that this scheme, which includes the construction of the big AVyangala dam 300 miles west of Sydney, and will cost £1,250,000, will irrigate a vast area suitable for wheat and fruit, but now- sparsely populated.
