Moderate: to strong northerly winds reaching gale force' in parts of the North Island and generally smooth to moderate, but rising' later in the north. Strong north to north-west winds to gales in the .north-eastern Tasman, aiid strong north-east to south-east in the south-east portion, with' rough seas. The weather will Iks cloudy and will gradually become unsettled, with rain, developing at first in the north and .then later extending to other districts. Some heavy falls are likely in the North Island, with mild temperatures. .1
